Gender equality in the advertising sector is a topic that has been debated for a long time. But the different initiatives that are carried out help to achieve the fullness of this much desired equality. At +Cartagena they have already met to take stock of the joint work with brands and the advertising industry these years with the aim of asking how creativity , as the basis of innovation , can trigger actions and structural solutions for society. And they have done so in a context that promotes more ideas to achieve equality at a time in which the health crisis acts as a protagonist and has challenged various sectors in all areas. This thematic segment is reaffirmed in UN Women's commitment to gender equality from various areas and sectors. In this way, during the last five years it has been demonstrated by great exponents of the industry that the generation of value , through the development of products, actions and campaigns for gender equality, is possible. This year they have gathered to talk about how creativity can trigger actions and structural solutions for society by taking into account and giving a voice to women and girls.
Luz María Velásquez, vice president of People, SMEs and Companies at Bancolombia; Vicky Ricuarte, edutech entrepreneur, founder of Arkay, recognized by the IDB in 2019 as the most innovative woman in Email Data Latin America in the field of STEAM; and Henry Seeber, president and general manager of American Express Argentina and LAC Sur, are some of the names of this year's participants.
